A teenage girl has been fatally stabbed west of Newcastle, NSW.
The teenager was found with a stab wound to her torso on Euston Close, Edgeworth about 10.20pm on Monday.
She was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a critical condition.
The teenager, who has not yet been formally identified, later died from her injuries.
Another teenage girl who was known to the victim was arrested at the scene.
She is assiting police with their investigation into the stabbing.
“A crime scene has been established, which will be forensically examined by specialist officers,” NSW Police said.
