Marvel Studios is a titan of the Hollywood landscape, delivering hit after hit for decades now. Even with a little blip here or there in recent releases, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still the undisputed champion of the movie industry, with very little being able to touch the levels of success that its Avengers movies, Spider-Man films, and the likes of special events like Deadpool and Wolverine, or Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness can achieve. And now it looks to do it all again with Avengers: Doomsday.
Marvel Studios is taking to the CinemaCon stage in Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas, as part of the Walt Disney Studios Presentation to showcase some of the upcoming titles from the parent studio, including Disney’s The Devil Wears Prada 2, Lucasfilm’s next Star Wars film The Mandalorian and Grogu, and of course, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday.
Join us for some LIVE coverage of the event as we update you on every announcement and update from Kevin Feige, the Russo Brothers, and Marvel Studos.
Pre-show footage teases what’s to come
Ahead of the Walt Disney CinemaCon panel, a sizzle reel teased fans with what’s to come from the evening of festivities. During that montage, there were clips of Avengers: Doomsday featured, including Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers on a motorcycle, Thor talking to the All-Father, and Cyclops unleashing his optic blast – rounding up some of the scenes showcased in the previous four Avengers: Doomsday teasers. It also sees Cap looking his classic Captain America suit before then holding his baby son.
Brandon Davis, who is in attendance at the event, shares a breakdown:
Avengers: Doomsday footage featured in Disney’s opening sizzle! Cap’s foot on the bike pedal and Thor speaking to the All-Father… it ends with Cap looking at the suit, holding his baby, and Cyclops unleashing his optic blasts.

As the Disney CinemaCon panel kicks off, Kevin Feige, the Russo Brothers, and Chris Evans have arrived at the event. Feige is wearing a Doctor Doom cap while Evans is sporting Doom green.

Marvel Studios has unveiled posters for Avengers: Doomsday during CinemaCon, which confirm that the film will not be changing its December 18, 2026 release date.
Rumor had it that the studio planned on moving a week earlier to obtain some IMAX screens (which Dune 3 currently holds on the December 18 date), but it looks like that will not the be the case after all.

During the Disney Presentation, a wall of upcoming releases featured Robert Downey Jr. suited up as Doctor Doom (which represented Avengers: Doomsday). Although this image had surfaced before, it’s the first time that Marvel has officially confirmed it to be true. And as a result of this, we can pretty much accept that this is what Downey Jr.’s legendary villain is going to look like.

The Avengers: Doomsday presentation officially kicks off with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who tells the audiences that movies should be seen on the big screen. And, with that, he reveals that the upcoming Avengers: Endgame re-release in theaters this September will feature deleted scenes and some never-before-seen footage/surprises.

It should be noted that it is also expected to feature a new post-credits scene (the original didn’t have any). And that will seemingly lead directly into Avengers: Doomsday, which we now know will pick up directly where the 2019 film leaves off. Hence the Steve Rogers comeback. And with that, more heavy-hitters from the film arrive on stage to showcase new footage from the movie.
RDJ, Chris Evans and the Russos unveil new look at Avengers: Doomsday
Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. took to the CinemaCon stage, along with directors Joe and Anthony Russo, as well as Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, to unveil a new look at Avengers: Doomsday for the audience. That first look came in the form of a brand new trailer, which unfortunately wasn’t released online. However, those in attendance have since broken it down, giving us all a glimpse of what actually goes down in the film.
The trailer featured a sneak peek of the long-rumored showdown between the Avengers’ newest recruit Shang-Chi and long-stading X-Men legend Gambit. We can’t wait to see Simu Liu and James Marsden’s heroes face off.

It also turns out that it will feature a number of unexpected crossovers. Perhaps the most surprising of them all is that of Mystique, who reportedly transforms into Yelena Belova – a.k.a. the leader of the New Avengers.
It will be great seeing Rebecca Romijn’s legendary X-Men villain and Florence Pugh’s Thunderbolts* hero in the same circle for the first time ever.

Chris Hemsworth’s Thor will return to screens in Avengers: Doomsday and the trailer placed the focus on him as he grew concerned about what was happening to the multiverse, and the arrival of Doctor Doom.
It turns out that God of Thunder will attempt to strike Doom with his axe, Strombreaker, only for the villain to block him. Meanwhile, as Thor hopes for a miracle, one will be presented to him in the return of Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers. Although Thor doesn’t believe it’s him, Captain America is successfully able to claim Mjolnir once again, proving that he is still worthy.

Thanks for following along with me for the updates this evening. It goes without saying that Avengers: Doomsday is going to be one for the ages. And even if we didn’t get the trailer released online, we still know that we’re in for one heck of a ride. It will make the full trailer release – likely at San Diego Comic-Con – all the more worthwhile.
