SARATOGA SPRINGS — A 2-year-old, one-eyed beaver in Saratoga County has been capturing international attention online. She has over a million followers across different platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
Bo, at 49 pounds—if you can believe it—is still growing. She is a baby. The largest beaver in North America ever found weighed 110 pounds.

Beyond videos of Bo just doing beaver things, her unique relationship with her rescuer, Alexis Bross, is extremely captivating.
Bross and her family run Wild for Life, a rescue for orphaned and injured animals.
Bo was rescued as a very young baby during a flood and shortly afterward lost her eye to an infection, making her unreleasable.
Bross stresses that despite their deep bond, Bo is not a pet. She’s still a wild animal and a state- and federally licensed educational ambassador.
That includes visits to schools, libraries, and even breweries.

Right now, Bo is preparing for the Beaver Ball, the rescue’s annual fundraising gala, and she’s definitely used to being the guest of honor.
She was even the ring bearer at Alexis and her husband Eric’s wedding in Saratoga Springs.
