Longtime Carson Valley Health executive Shannon Rogers has been named chief executive officer of the Gardnerville hospital.

Rogers has been with the organization since 2004, holding several leadership roles, most recently serving as chief operating officer for the past eight years. During her time at Carson Valley Health, she has helped develop clinical and operational areas for the hospital and led portions of the 2024 hospital expansion project.

“As we look ahead, our commitment is to build on CVH’s strong foundation and continue the important work already underway,” Rogers said. “Our commitment to our community is — and always has been — to provide excellent care to our patients. We do this by partnering with those who share our mission to ensure we are addressing their healthcare needs. As we continue this journey aligned with Barton Health, we are excited at Carson Valley Health to reimagine what is possible for the next level of care for the communities and region we serve. I’m honored to be a part of this and motivated to lead our incredible team in this effort.”

Her deep knowledge of the organization and longstanding dedication to Carson Valley make her exceptionally well suited to lead, Hospital President Dr. Clint Purvance.

“We are excited for this next chapter and grateful for her willingness to serve,” said Purvance, who is also Barton Health chief executive officer.

An active member of the community, Rogers is a past president and current board member of the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communication and public relations from California State University, Sacramento, in 2004, and her master of business administration in healthcare administration from Western Governors University in 2021. She is a member of the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Rogers raised her family in Carson Valley, and her roots run deep. When not in the office, you can find Shannon and her husband hiking the trails of the Sierra, exploring the incredible outdoor recreational areas in the region, and traveling.
