Trailer Drops for ‘The Dog Stars’ From 20th Century Studios

Disney D23 and Disney’s 20th Century Studios have released the first official trailer for the upcoming Ridley Scott film, The Dog Stars. The movie is based on Peter Heller’s post-apocalyptic science fiction novel of the same name.

The story centers on Hig, a former civilian pilot living with his dog in the aftermath of a catastrophic flu pandemic, whose lonesome survival routine is disrupted by a mysterious radio transmission that suggests he may not be alone in this post-civilization world.

The film stars Jacob Elordi in the lead role as Hig. Josh Brolin co-stars with Elordi, along with Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Allison Janney, and Benedict Wong in supporting roles.

The Dog Stars is scheduled to open in U.S. theaters on August 28, 2026.
