HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) – Two snakes — a copperhead and a rat snake — were found this week near homes in Huntersville.
The Huntersville Police Department shared photos on Tuesday, April 21, showing an animal services technician safely securing the snakes before relocating them. The photos are at the bottom of this article.
Both calls came in on the same day. Officers noted that as temperatures warm, residents may begin seeing more wildlife in their neighborhoods.
“These animals are a natural and important part of our community,” a spokesperson wrote. “With a little awareness and respect, we can safely coexist and give them the space they need.”
Officials encouraged anyone with concerns or anyone who may need help from Animal Services technicians to call CharMeck 311.
