OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A mother and her 12-year-old daughter are in the hospital after a crash involving a car and an electric scooter in North Omaha.
Omaha police officers were called to the crash near 31st and Grand avenues shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
In a release, police say a white 1996 Buick Park Avenue was headed northbound on 31st when it collided with the mother and daughter on the scooter.
The scooter was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes at the time of the crash. The mom was thrown onto the car’s windshield and the girl was thrown off the scooter, according to the release.
The driver of the Buick was also injured. Investigators suspect alcohol was a factor in the incident.
“The Buick driver was booked into Douglas County Corrections for unrelated warrants. The investigation is ongoing,” the release states.
