Rochester, N.Y. — Several local police departments, grocery stores and organizations are encouraging people to safely dispose of expired or unused medications this weekend.
Saturday is the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s 30th annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
The nationwide effort promotes public health and safety while preventing environmental pollution and drug abuse.
All takeback events run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All local Tops Supermarket locations are holding events, as well as the following Wegmans locations:

There will also be takeback events at the Brighton Police Department at 2300 Elmwood Avenue and the Webster Justice Court at 1002 Ridge Road.
