During exit interviews a couple weeks ago, Blackhawks forward Oliver Moore intimated that he would be playing for the United States at the upcoming Men’s World Championship. On Friday, Scott Powers reported Moore will be joined by two other members of the 2025-26 Chicago Blackhawks.
According to Powers, defenseman Wyatt Kaiser and forward Sam Lafferty (a pending UFA this summer) will also represent their country.
Moore has appeared in three tournaments on behalf of the United States: the 2023 U-18 World Championship and the 2024 and 2025 World Junior Championships. He won gold in all three tournaments.
Kaiser appeared in four games for the United States at the 2020 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, and one game at the 2022 World Junior Championship before it was cancelled because of COVID.
We previously learned Anton Frondell will skate for Sweden in the World Championship.
Last year, Frank Nazar and Alex Vlasic were members of the first USA team to win gold at the World Championship — the first time the US won gold at the tournament since 1933!
