A Georgia man has been charged following an early morning home invasion that left two people injured on Saturday, April 25, according to a media release from the Greenville Police Department (GPD) and statements from Chief Justin Lovvorn.
The suspect, identified in the release as Tyler Brown, 31, of Georgia, was taken into custody and transported to the police department for questioning.
“Basically, the original call we got was about a suspicious vehicle in the roadway on New Searcy Road,” Lovvorn said. “When we arrived, we quickly determined that the individual had apparently committed a home invasion next door.”
Officers responding to the scene found two individuals holding a suspect at gunpoint near the roadway.
Law enforcement officers then entered the residence where they. located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds and provided medical assistance. Both victims were transported to Regional Medical Center and later transferred for further treatment.
According to the police department’s media release, both victims were listed in serious but stable condition.
Lovvorn said the investigation revealed the suspect had previously met a female resident online.
