Saturday is National Drug Take Back Day, which gives people across the country the chance to safely get rid of any expired or unused prescription medication.

The DEA is hosting this event as a way to prevent prescription drug abuse and allow the drugs to be disposed of properly.

The service is free and anonymous and will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

All Indiana and Michigan State Police posts will participate in the event.

Other locations will also participate. You can find the closest take back event near you on the DEA’s website.
