Marvel’s Wade Wilson, the Merc with a Mouth, has just unveiled perhaps his best redesign of all time, as Deadpool takes on a villain that many fans assume has him overpowered a thousand times over. Thankfully, he now has the upgrade he needs to close the power gap.
Deadpool Takes on the King in Black in Knullbuster Redesign
DEADPOOL AND KING IN BLACK’S KNULL
Marvel artist Luciano Vecchio just outfitted Deadpool in a new suit of ‘Knullbuster’ armor. The spiky suit is designed to take down the King in Black, aka Marvel’s God of Symbiotes. The spiky black suit comes complete with two gigantic energy swords, as Deadpool’s new costume glows with red energy.

The new look is part of an upcoming variant cover initiative, outfitting heroes with the armor and weapons they need to take on the King in Black… or should that be the Queen in Black? Punisher, Doctor Doom and even Jeff the Landshark are boasting symbiote-busting suits – and Wade Wilson’s will appear on select issues of Wade Wilson: Deadpool #6.

The initiative is a celebration of Marvel’s upcoming Queen in Black event, which will see Marvel’s heroes caught between Hela – the new goddess of symbiotes – and Knull, who has unlocked a godlike new form powered by cosmic light.
The Avengers will be forced to assemble anti-light and anti-dark teams to try and change the course of this universe-shaking battle for dominance.
Deadpool #6 Will Also Debut a WAY Freakier Redesign
WADE WILSON DEADPOOL 6 SHOWING ONE OF THE BADPOOLS
While this Wade Wilson: Deadpool #6 variant cover makes Deadpool look incredibly cool, the issue will also give him one of his grossed redesigns of all time.

A story from Benjamin Percy and Alex Lins will see Deadpool go up against the ‘Badpools’ – what appear to be faulty clones with warped bodies and patchwork versions of his costume.

So far, fans know nothing about the Badpools or their connection to Deadpool, though they seem to hate their namesake for unclear reasons. Whatever their origin, each of the Badpools is a twisted new take on Wade Wilson’s design.
Deadpool’s Maximum Power Level Is Basically Inconceivable

So could Deadpool take on the King in Black, even with his new costume? While Wade is usually seen as a street-level hero who utilizes guns and swords, he’s become so much more whenever he’s needed to.
Deadpool’s ability to blur the lines of reality have allowed him to access incredible cosmic power when needed. In Deadpool vs Thanos, he became the new Captain Universe, while in Deadpool #45, he took ownership of the Infinity Gauntlet.
Deadpool with Cosmic Powers
Captain Universe is granted powers by the Enigma Force, aka the God of Light. This force is Knull’s opposite, meaning that ironically, Deadpool has already unlocked the best weapon to take down the King in Black.
However, it was in Deadpool: The End that Wade really showed what he’s capable of. After his daughter Ellie was diagnosed with cancer, Deadpool declared war on Death. To take down the cosmic entity, Wade gathered the Infinity Gauntlet, bullets coated with caustic demon blood, and an anti-reality sword capable of killing gods.

Thankfully, his daughter talked him down by inventing a black hole bomb that could finally kill him, meaning he wouldn’t have to live without her.
In short, whatever challenge Deadpool finds himself up against, he finds a way to win, even if it means hunting down cosmic artifacts that even characters like Thanos haven’t been able to assemble in full. While the King in Black is one of the most unbeatable foes in Marvel lore, Deadpool fans shouldn’t dismiss what he can do with the right weapon – and his Knullbuster armor is certainly that.
