If you thought College Station goes nuts for college football on fall Saturdays, wait until you see the scene at Kyle Field for a certain baseball exhibition this spring. More than 102,000 fans packed into Texas A&M‘s home football stadium Saturday night, with a raucous atmosphere in Aggieland befitting a spectacle than continues to sweep the nation: Banana Ball. 

The Savannah Bananas, a barnstorming baseball club that mixes traditional baseball with an assortment of tricks, dances and outsized celebrations, continued its 2026 nationwide tour in College Station on Saturday night. The Bananas’ game against the Texas Tailgaters broke the Bananas attendance record, and the more than 100,000 in attendance saw far more than a traditional baseball game.

The Bananas held a pregame celebration that drew fans outside Kyle Field for numerous city blocks, and the subsequent game inside the stadium featured a number of delightful musical numbers. The Bananas led Kyle Field fans in the Aggie War Hymn, and the throngs of fans later participated in a mass singing of Garth Brooks’ classic “Friends in Low Places.” Saturday’s event was perfectly College Station, a mix of outsized spectacle and hometown tradition.

A handful of local legends also showed up, headlined by the popular Texas-based sports-trick-shot group Dude Perfect.

The Bananas drew their largest crowd ever Saturday night, though the 102,000 strong at Kyle Field didn’t see a victory for the beloved club. The Tailgaters earned a 4-3 victory, sealing the win with a pop-out on the game’s final at-bat despite a rally by the Bananas in the game’s final inning. The result disappointed the Bananas players who took the field in front of a historic crowd, though the game’s result is ultimately inconsequential compared to the fan experience.

The Savannah Bananas are a national sensation, who will continue their national tour at college football stadiums and Major League Baseball ballparks through Sept. 27 (the final game will be at Globe Life Field in Arlington). Next up for the Bananas? A stop at Oneok Field in Tulsa, Okla. on May 7, followed by three games at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves. Another stop at a college-football cathedral is on the horizon for the club, with a trip to the University of Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium set for May 23.
