The now-bankrupt The Villages Health will use an outside realtor to sell off a house in Oxford Oaks.

The Villages Health has been granted permission by the bankruptcy court to retain Realty Executives to sell off the home located at 11368 Laufersky Lane in Oxford Oaks, a family development on U.S. 301 that was built and marketed by The Villages. It is not clear why The Villages Health bought the home in 2022, although it might have been used as transitional housing for medical professionals recruited to work at the healthcare facilities.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom home that was constructed in 2019 is currently listed for $329,500.

Last year, the more than 55,000 patients at The Villages Health were shocked by news of the sudden bankruptcy of the health care system, linked to a still-mysterious “erroneous Medicare coding” problem estimated at about $360 million. For months, a court battle was waged with accusations flying that that Morse family had wrung tens of millions of dollars out of The Villages Health ahead of the bankruptcy and $68 million sale to Humana’s Center Well.

The Developer recently offered to pay $80 million to satisfy claims in the lingering bankruptcy case of The Villages Health. The Developer is said to be eager to close the book on this venture into health care.
