As they prepare to fight for a place in a European final, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace players will be dreaming of that moment when they can get their hands on a trophy.
But for the clubs involved, the opportunity to compete in Europe again next season is just as valuable.
If Palace win the Conference League, they’ll earn a place in next season’s Europa League – a competition they missed out on last season by a technicality.
Meanwhile, if Villa or Forest win the Europa League, they’ll automatically qualify for the Champions League, as Tottenham did last May.
