The Ida S. Baker High School boys basketball coach was arrested on Thursday and faces charges for an inappropriate relationship with a student.According to Lee County Sheriff’s Office booking records, Casimiro Razo, 36, was booked into the Lee County Jail at 8:27 a.m.He faces a charge of sex offense — authority figure soliciting/engaging in a romantic relationship with a student.The Ida S. Baker High School website lists Razo as the boys basketball head coach as well as a vocational teacher.According to Rob Spicker, Director of Communications for Lee County Schools, the district suspended Razo in February and prohibited his return to campus pending an investigation.Spicker said that the investigative report is now complete, and the district is initiating formal disciplinary proceedings. The Cape Coral Police Department released a statement detailing the timeline of the accusations against Razo.According to CCPD, officers were notified of allegations of inappropriate conduct by Razo toward a student at Ida S. Baker High School.School Administration reported that a former student of Razo’s disclosed that he had made comments about her appearance, passed her handwritten notes, obtained her phone number and communicated with her outside of school, CCPD said.The student also reported that in October 2025, Razo asked her to stay after class, led her into a storage room, and kissed her on the lips, CCPD said. Phone records corroborated the student’s report. Razo was arrested just before 7 a.m. Thursday on a felony warrant.
