The New York Knicks took care of business in the second round of the playoffs, sweeping the Philadelphia 76ers and completely dominating them in Game 4. From the beginning of the game to the end, the Knicks had their foot on the gas, and they didn’t let up on their way to advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals.

They shot 57% from the 3-point line in Game 4, and Stephen A. Smith had a lot to say about his favorite team the following day on First Take.

“[If the] New York Knicks shoot the basketball like that, they gonna win a championship,” Smith said. “It don’t have to be 57%, but if you’re shooting effectively from the 3, if you’re contributions with your depth, if McBride is going to come off the bench and give you [18-20 points], the New York Knicks are going to win the championship.”

Smith didn’t stop there, and he started going down a list of everything that he’s loved from the team in the postseason.

“I love what I’m seeing right now from this team,” Smith said. “I love the point center that Karl-Anthony Towns has become. I love the adjustments that Mike Brown has clearly made because they look different than they did in the regular season. I love the fact that Jalen Brunson goes out there and averages 29 on 51% shooting and 45% from 3.”

One thing that Smith is going to do is hype up his team when they’re playing well, and completely tear them down when they’re playing badly. There hasn’t been much bad to talk about over the past week and a half, because the Knicks haven’t lost a game since Game 3 in the first round against the Atlanta Hawks.

There’s an argument to be made that the Knicks are playing some of the best basketball in the playoffs next to the Oklahoma City Thunder, and if both continue their domination, they could see each other when June comes around.
