Carson Hocevar leaked the news that NASCAR was returning to Rockingham Speedway; The driver then got a call from NASCAR
Rockingham Speedway is a 0.94-mile oval in Rockingham, NC. Until this year, NASCAR hadn’t raced at the track since 2013 with the NASCAR Truck Series.
In 2024, NASCAR had yet to announce a return to Rockingham Speedway. However, Carson Hocevar regularly called for the series to return to the North Carolina track.
“Have I heard anything about next year’s schedule? Rockingham’s coming back. Really cool,” Carson Hocevar stated on a stream that set the internet wild.
And it turned out to be true. The NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Truck Series made their return to the dormant track in the 2025 season.

But, NASCAR wasn’t happy that it leaked…
NASCAR gave Carson Hocevar a call
“I leaked Rockingham. Like, full-blown leaked it. But, I didn’t know it. I had no idea,” Hocevar stated this week as he reflected on that situation from last year.
“I just picked something that I thought would be cool, for like, a joke. And I showed up at the shop, NASCAR called my team and was like, ‘What and the hell are you doing?!’ “
“I’m just like, ‘What? I don’t know what you mean.’ “
“I had no idea. I just pulled this out of thin air. There wasn’t a rumor, there wasn’t anything.”
“And they’re like, ‘How do you know Rockingham’s coming back?’ I was like, ‘Oh no!’ “
“You wanna know the people bringing Rockingham back? Track Enterprises. Wanna know who owns track enterprises? Spire Motorsports!”
Hocevar currently drives for Spire Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Hocevar added, “So, I lost some plausible deniability.”
To slightly correct Hocevar, Rockingham Speedway is actually owned by Rockingham Properties LLC, with Dan Lovenheim. Track Enterprises has a rental agreement at the track to help facilitate the return of NASCAR races.
The track is now for sale once again.
