ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The town of Canton is inviting the public to a special screening of the documentary film “Papertown” before its world premiere.
CANTON MAYOR: PAPER MILL CLOSING IS LIKE TAKING A PIECE OF TOWN’S SOUL
“Papertown” is a documentary about Canton’s struggles in the wake of the sudden closure of the century-old paper mill at the heart of town.
The film was made by award-winning director Jeremy Seifert and includes an original song by executive producer Dave Matthews of the Dave Matthews Band.

The screening is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, at Sorrells Park from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The town said food trucks will be on-site starting at 5 p.m.
The screening is free and open to the public.
