According to Franklin County Sheriff Johnny Crocker, the sheriff’s office responded to a call Friday afternoon of a person being stabbed inside his house on Cat Holler Road in North Franklin County.When deputies arrived, they saw a man who ran inside the house. According to Crocker, the deputies noticed a man who was dead inside the home, and who appeared to have been stabbed multiple times.Crocker says the suspect barricaded himself on the second floor inside the home. Franklin County SWAT team members, with help from Arkansas State Police, were involved in an hour-long standoff when deputies deployed tear gas and entered the home.Crocker said the suspect started fighting with deputies and attempted to grab a deputy’s gun when the man was shot by deputies. He died from his injuries.Crocker said they found a woman inside the home who was also dead after being stabbed multiple times.According to Crocker, the two homeowners were married. He said deputies believe that the suspect had been staying with the couple for some time. Right now, ASP is assisting with the ongoing investigation. The names of the husband and wife as well as the suspect, who was shot by a deputy, have not yet been released.Crocker says no law enforcement members were hurt during the incident.
