Naz Reid and the Minnesota Timberwolves have a future to address following their NBA Playoffs exit. Ex-teammate Karl-Anthony Towns, meanwhile, has his New York Knicks resting for the Eastern Conference Finals.

Reid and KAT could’ve been chasing an NBA Finals appearance together if it wasn’t for the epic Sept. 2024 trade to New York. The now eliminated Reid, however, continued to express support for Towns. That includes personally watching him chase a ring, which he told reporters Saturday.

“I’m trying to get out there back home for sure, trying to see him play in person, you know, from a spectator aspect, that’s a brother for sure,” Reid began.

Both share more than a previous Timberwolves bond. But the two also hail from New Jersey, which further boosts the support on Reid’s end.

“I’ve known him long before the NBA. Just trying to make sure to give the same love to him that he’s indicated to us, and so forth and so on,” Reid added. “Obviously want to be there for him as much as much as I can be. He’s been there for me more than you guys know.”

Reid aims to reciprocate that same love over to KAT. His Knicks return to their second consecutive ECF for the first time since the late 1990s/early 2000s.

New York is rising as the favorite to come out of the east. Even as KAT and the Knicks await the Sunday winner of the Cleveland Cavaliers versus Detroit Pistons contest. New York must travel to Detroit for Games 1 and 2 if the Pistons win, but hosts the Cavs if Cleveland escapes.
