Water service has been turned off on the west side of Division between McConnell and Logan as crews began repairing the break.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A portion of southbound Division Avenue is flooded Wednesday morning due to a water main break.
The 12-inch break happened on Division Avenue S at McConnell Street SW. The road is partially flooded and water was seen flowing from the manholes.
The water has since been turned off, according to Grand Rapids crews at the scene.
The break has been identified and isolated, and crews will be assessing the situation and repairing the break.
There are no widespread service interruptions, according to Media Relations Manager Steve Guitar. Water service has been turned off on the west side of Division between McConnell and Logan.
A part of southbound Division Avenue is closed. The Grand Rapids Police Department and fire department are on scene directing traffic.
It is not clear how long the road will be closed.
