SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — With all 29 Utah counties in severe drought and 22 experiencing extreme drought, the state is asking Utahns to be mindful of water use.
When it comes to watering your lawn, costs are still higher in other states.
A recent report by lawn company Lawn Love revealed the most expensive cities for watering your lawn in 2026. Cities in Arizona and Nevada were listed as having the most expensive cities for watering lawns.

While Utah cities weren’t listed in the top ten, slowing real estate growth was mentioned in the Ogden Valley. This is a place where planned housing developments have been reportedly constrained, delayed, or blocked due to water availability.
The Utah Department of Natural Resources has a weekly lawn watering guide to advise lawn owners on how to maintain their yards appropriately without waste.
During the last week of May, the guide recommended no watering for residents in Summit County and two waterings for most other counties of the state.
