Naomi Osaka is, in many senses, serving at the 2026 French Open.
Today, for a first-round match against Germany’s Laura Siegemund, Osaka continued her ace fashion streak. This time, she turned to Swiss couturier Kevin Germanier to create a custom walk-on look.
Osaka strolled onto the clay court in an all-black look, which Germanier deconstructed from her past competition gear—a tennis skirt, jacket, and dress. The Swiss designer created a black sleeveless corset top embellished with intricate beading, paired with a semi-sheer pleated skirt made of the internal lining of one of Osaka’s jackets.

“I wanted the outfit to feel romantic yet strong, reflecting Naomi’s energy and the emotion of playing on such an iconic stage,” Germanier tells Vogue. “After her magnificent Met look, it felt important to come back just as strong and powerful for this moment in Paris, mixing couture and sport, or as Naomi says so perfectly, ‘couture.’”
Beneath her bespoke walk-on look, Osaka revealed her equally stylish Nike kit: a light brown skirt set outfitted with a ruffly, two-tiered peplum and vertical rows of gold sequins of various sizes.
The walk-on look’s sportswear origins made for easy styling. Posing for a photo with Siegemund ahead of the match, Osaka paired the gauzy black pleated maxi skirt with the sequined peplum top.
