BRISTOL, Va. (WCYB) — The city of Bristol, Virginia, will begin a new, on-demand collection service for yard waste and large items on September 1.
Called “Click or Call — We’ll Haul!,” the service allows residents to schedule pickups at their convenience by submitting a request online at www.bristolva.gov/haul or by calling the Solid Waste Department at 276-645-7380.
“This new system puts more control in the hands of our residents,” said Laura Socia, Solid Waste Director. “Rather than relying on rotating routes that sometimes led to extended delays, residents will now get quicker, more customized service.”
Under the new program:
Pickups must be scheduled in advance.Collections will occur within seven days of the request.Eligible materials include brush, grass clippings, leaves, tree limbs (under 6 inches in diameter and less than 6 feet in length), and large items such as furniture and certain appliances.Items should be placed in a clear, accessible location at the curb and be clear of overhead lines.
