Three adults and two children killed in a crash on Interstate 95 in Virginia early Friday morning were from Massachusetts, according to the Virginia State Police.The crash, which involved several vehicles and a bus, occurred at approximately 2:35 a.m. on the southbound side at mile marker 146 in Stafford County, near Quantico. State police said the bus, which was traveling from New York City to Charlotte, failed to slow for traffic and hit a Chevrolet Suburban. The Suburban was forced into an Acura SUV and other vehicles. The Acura later caught fire.Four of the fatalities were in one car, which caught fire. State police said the victims were a 45-year-old male, a 44-year-old female, a 13-year-old female and a 7-year-old male, all from Greenfield, Massachusetts. Their names were not released by police, but a statement from the school the children attended in Greenfield said they were Dmitri and Ecaterina Doncev and their daughter, Emily, and son, Mark.”To the families, friends, and neighbors of those we lost: there are no words that can fully ease the weight of this sudden and unimaginable grief. Approximately 34 people were on the bus at the time of the crash. A total of 44 patients were taken to area hospitals from the crash. The driver, Jing S. Dong, 48, of New York, was among the injured. State police said the crash remains under investigation but charges are pending.
