MISSOULA, Mont. — The Bureau of Land Management has begun the process of removing a wild stallion from the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range after repeated breaches of range boundaries and reports of aggressive behavior toward livestock and private property owners.
According to the BLM, the stallion will be held at the Britton Springs corrals while the agency completes the administrative process for its permanent removal from the range.
Officials said the action follows two incidents in which the horse left the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range on May 7 and May 10. Despite efforts to repair and reinforce fencing, the stallion continued to leave the range and seek forage on nearby private lands.
