POLICE OFFICER HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL BUT IS EXPECTED TO SURVIVE. SACRAMENTO POLICE SAY IT STARTED JUST AFTER 630, WHEN THEY ATTEMPTED TO STOP A CAR IN THE AREA OF 11TH AND D STREETS. I DO WANT TO SHIFT YOUR ATTENTION INTO THAT DIRECTION, WHERE SACRAMENTO POLICE TOLD US THAT AFTER 630 OFFICERS HAD TRIED TO STOP A CAR NEAR NORTH 11TH STREET AND NORTH D STREET, THE CAR DID NOT STOP AND A PURSUIT BEGAN AS A RESULT. BUT CHECK OUT THIS SHOCKING VIDEO WE RECEIVED FROM SOMEONE WALKING NEARBY THAT SHOWS THE DRIVER OF A RED CAR TRYING TO GET AWAY. BUT THEN THE PURSUIT EVENTUALLY COMING TO AN END. Sacramento police officer taken to hospital after pursuit suspect hits patrol vehicle

An officer was taken to the hospital after a pursuit ended with a suspect crashing into a patrol vehicle, according to Sacramento police. The Sacramento Police Department said officers tried to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle without license plates near North 11th and North D streets around 6:30 p.m. Officers approached the vehicle and observed the driver in possession of narcotic paraphernalia, according to police. That’s when the vehicle took off and a chase began.The suspect, 44-year-old Michael Littleton, was driving a red Kia and hit the patrol vehicle near 12th an C streets. He was arrested and booked into jail on charges related to narcotic paraphernalia, pursuit causing injury and assault involving a weapon against an officer, according to police. The police officer sustained minor injuries and was released from the hospital later Saturday night.
