One of the largest owner-operators of upscale private golf and country clubs across the country continues to have its eyes on Texas.
Concert Golf Partners—based in Orlando, Florida and backed by private investment firm Bain Capital—announced the acquisition of Pebble Creek Country Club in College Station, its third private club in the Lone Star State. Concert Golf was tapped by then-owner Triumph Golf as Pebble Creek’s new successor to the private course.
Pebble Creek is situated in the heart of the Brazos Valley, one of the fastest-growing economic regions in Texas, and is a 10-minute drive from Texas A&M University. Pebble Creek joins Houston-based courses Northgate Country Club and Walden on Lake Conroe Golf Club in Concert’s portfolio.
“Pebble Creek is known for its vibrant, family-friendly environment, and a close-knit membership, reflecting the club’s deep-rooted connection to the local community,” Concert Golf Partners Senior Vice President Jordan Peace said in a statement. “This sense of community aligns with Concert Golf’s vision for preserving the unique customs and traditions of our upscale private clubs across America.”
Established in 1991, Pebble Creek features a 60,000-square-foot clubhouse and an 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course designed by Ken Dye, renowned for his challenging layouts. The course stretches nearly 6,900 yards and offers a scenic experience with creeks, lakes, and an expansive treeline. Pebble Creek was voted the “Best Course of the Brazos Valley” for two consecutive years by Brazos Life.
“Since we bought Pebble Creek Country Club in 2012, we have made many improvements and invested heavily in the club’s golf course, amenities, team, and club culture,” said Triumph Golf Co-Founder and President Billy Sitton. “It’s easy to hand the club to Concert Golf because we are confident they will take what we have built, and continue to invest and maintain the culture that makes Pebble Creek so special.”
Concert Golf focuses on acquiring clubs debt-free and investing its own capital for significant renovations. They typically establish a Member Advisory Board to improve membership and commit to reinvesting revenue in course and facility upgrades.
“We’ve helped clubs renovate their existing courses and clubhouses so players enjoy a better experience before they even tee off,” said Concert Golf in 2024 about their model. “With our dedicated funds, we invest in capital improvement projects that add value to your club and fill in areas where your club may be lacking. Concert Golf makes clubs successful without disrupting the experience of new and existing members.”
Concert Golf is backed by Bain Capital’s private Equity and real estate platforms. Bain Capital is based in Boston, Massachusetts and was co-founded by retired politician and former presidential candidate Mitt Romney. The firm manages over $200 billion in assets.
