POINT? YEAH. JASON. WELL, WE JUST GOT TO THE SCENE, BUT IT’S BIG. I MEAN, THIS IS TOWSON CIRCLE, SO YOU CAN KIND OF SEE THAT CAR A LITTLE BIT ACROSS THE WAYS THERE ON YORK ROAD. I JUST A FEW MINUTES LATER, A FEW PROBABLY HALF AN HOUR LATER, I HAD A HELICOPTER CIRCLING. I DON’T REALLY HEAR THAT AT TOWSON. SO I’M LIKE, YEAH, THAT’S CRAZY. I’M LIKE, YEAH, AND TO KNOW. POLICE CONFIRMED THIS IS A SHOOTING. WE HAD OUR HELICOPTER. SKY ELEVEN’S BEEN OVER THE SCENE. WE KNOW FROM COUNTY POLICE THAT THIS IS A CONFIRMED SHOOTING, THAT THE PERSON WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WITH LIFE THREATENING INJURIES. WE’RE HEARING REPORTS FROM CAPTAIN ROY TAYLOR IN THE AREA AND ALSO THE COUNCILMAN HERE THAT THE PERSON UNFORTUNATELY DID NOT MAKE IT. THEY DID NOT SURVIVE THEIR INJURIES. A LOT OF BULLET HOLES IN THAT CAR THAT THEY WERE IN. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT ALL THAT? IT’S RIGHT OUTSIDE YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, BASICALLY TO RIGHT AND IN A VERY POPULAR AREA. IT GOT TO STOP. WHEN THAT SHOOTING HAPPENED, WE COUNTED AT LEAST FIVE BULLET HOLES IN THE DRIVER’S SIDE DOOR OF THAT VEHICLE. ONCE AGAIN, COUNTY POLICE CONFIRMING THEY DID TAKE THE PERSON TO THE HOSPITAL THAT WAS IN THAT CAR WITH LIFE THREATENING INJURIES. AND WE ARE HEARING REPORTS OF THAT PERSON, UNFORTUNATELY, DID NOT SURVIVE. AS FAR AS THE SHOOTER GOES. AT LAST CHECK, POLICE ARE STILL SEARCHING THE AREA, BUT WE ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE A PRESS CONFERENCE FROM POLICE. WE’RE GOING TO ASK ALL THE QUESTIONS. WHAT LED UP TO THIS? A large Baltimore County presence converged Friday afternoon for a reported shooting in Towson.County police have scheduled a 6:30 p.m. news conference that we’ll stream liveSKY 11 reported police converged at the Towson Circle on York near Joppa roads.County police said a driver traveling north on York Road was shot near the circle. Police said the driver was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.Detectives are working to identify and find the shooter.People in the area told WBAL-TV 11 News they heard what sounded like as many as nine gunshots, and there were as many as five bullet holes in the side of the car.Preliminary reports indicate a shooting may have stemmed from a road rage incident, SKY 11 reported.Police were collecting witness statements and surveillance video, SKY 11 reported.Road closures amid the investigation included Dulaney Valley Road, as well as southbound York Road from Allegany Avenue to the circle and northbound from Chesapeake Avenue to the circle.Video below from scene of shooting
