As the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup continues, the Sparks are looking to pick up a second straight win, while the Storm are trying to halt a six-game losing streak.
Los Angeles took down the Portland Fire on Sunday, 89-72, thanks to monster games from Dearica Hamby and Nneka Ogwumike, who combined for 42 points, 29 rebounds and four steals. Kelsey Plum entered the game leading the WNBA in scoring and had 16 points, seven assists, six boards and three steals on the victory, while Rae Burrell came off the bench to chip in 10 points.
The Storm’s last contest was a 101-91 loss to the Las Vegas Aces in which Dominique Malonga had 19 points to lead the team. Natisha Hiedeman went for 17 with five assists, five rebounds and three steals, while Flau’jae Johnson contributed 13 points and seven assists and Awa Fam went for 16.
