Black bear tranquilized, removed from tree in Nampa with help from Fish and Game

NAMPA, Idaho (CBS2) — A black bear spotted in a tree near Franklin and Birch prompted an unusual call for Nampa police, who said dispatchers were initially skeptical after receiving reports of the animal.

Nampa police said they responded and confirmed the bear was in the tree, then called in help because they are “city cops.”

Idaho Fish & Game and the Nampa Fire Department assisted, police said. The bear was brought down from the tree with tranquilizers, loaded into Fish & Game’s “bearmobile” and taken back to the wilderness, “far, far away from Nampa.”
