In the college football world, few jerseys have remained more consistent over the decades than the Texas Longhorns, and while that won’t change substantially in 2026, the school has made a small tweak foreshadowed by athletics director Chris Del Conte in his annual town hall meeting in February and previewed during the official visit season.
After removing the Longhorn logo from the center of the jersey collar several years ago, Texas has now replaced it with the SEC logo, reducing it in size while moving it from its previous location on the right side opposite the Nike logo to the left.
As the tweak makes for one of the cleanest jerseys the Horns have worn in the modern era, fans of the burnt orange and white can rest assured that the conference logo won’t be replaced by a commercial logo like the abomination that will adorn Michigan State’s jerseys moving forward.
”Why would I want to put Sonic on our jersey?” Del Conte said.
