NBA Champion and Chalmette native Mitchell Robinson will be celebrated with a community parade through the heart of Chalmette on June 25.The parade will begin at the Chalmette Mall on 8700 W. Judge Perez Drive and end at Chalmette High School.Temporary traffic delays and lane closures will occur along the parade route during the event.Robinson graduated from Chalmette High School in 2017, where he became a McDonald’s All-American and one of the top basketball recruits in the country.Robinson was a key contributor on the NBA Champion New York Knicks, averaging 3.6 points and 5.6 rebounds in the NBA Finals.It was on defense where Robinson could really shine, as he helped contain superstar Victor Wembanyama. Parade attendees are encouraged to wear Chalmette’s maroon and white colors to help give Mitchell the hometown welcome he deserves.
