The Las Vegas Aces continue to look like one of the WNBA’s hottest teams.
Jackie Young scored a game-high 21 points and A’ja Wilson added 19 points and nine rebounds as the Aces rolled past the Golden State Valkyries 92-73 Sunday at Michelob Ultra Arena.
The victory marks Las Vegas’ eighth win in its last nine games and comes just days after the Aces clinched a spot in the Commissioner’s Cup Championship.
Young also made history in the win, passing head coach Becky Hammon for second place on the franchise’s all-time assists list. Chelsea Gray added 15 points and nine assists, while NaLyssa Smith and Jewell Loyd each finished with 14 points.
After a tight start, the Aces used a dominant second-quarter run to seize control and never looked back, building a 20-point halftime lead on their way to the victory.
Las Vegas will now turn its attention to a marquee matchup against the defending champion New York Liberty on Tuesday before facing New York again in the Commissioner’s Cup Championship later this month.
