Texas offered, hosted, and earned a commitment from a rising in-state wideout all within the span of one month. 2027 Amarillo (Texas) Palo Duro wide receiver and Rivals Industry Ranking three-star Kyron Brown has committed to Texas, choosing the Longhorns over Northwestern and Kansas State.

Brown camped at Texas and was offered by the Longhorns on June 3. He quickly set an official visit for June 12-14, and announced a commitment timeline on his way out of Austin. During the spring, he’s been clocked at 4.43 in the 40-yard dash.
At the time, Brown said of the visit “it really changed my perspective on Texas. It exceeded my expectations for sure. If I had to put Texas on my list– I’ll just tell y’all to stay tuned.”
Less than two weeks later, Brown is a member of Texas’ 2027 class.
Last year for Palo Duro, Brown tallied over 600 receiving yards on 37 catches with seven scores. He also puts his speed to use on the track, running the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdle races. He was a state qualifier in the 110h, finishing fifth in 2026 with a non-wind-legal 14.32.
Brown joins a wide receiver class with five-star Easton Royal and three-star Briceson Thrower.
Brown is ranked as the No. 796 overall prospect, the No. 109 wide receiver, and the No. 97 player in Texas in the Rivals Industry Ranking. Rivals ranks Brown as the No. 160 wide receiver and the No. 162 player in Texas.
