Brian Kelly, the former LSU football coach fired in November, has landed a new job: CBS college football color commentator. Kelly is expected to be a part of a three-man booth, Front Office Sports reported.
He’s expected to call Mountain West games on the network this fall.
“CBS Sports has one Big Ten football game a week,” FOS’s Ryan Glasspiegel wrote. “This season, Charles Davis is replacing Gary Danielson alongside Brad Nessler on Big Ten games at the network. Kelly is expected to be part of a three-man booth on Mountain West games … one source said.”
OKelly did in-studio work with CBS for the NFL Draft this past spring.
LSU announced it “separated” from Kelly in October after the Tigers started 5-3 in 2025. The separation, however, was found to be without cause, so the two sides agreed to a $54-million buyout, and Kelly was officially fired in November, the same month the program hired his successor, Lane Kiffin.
Kelly, 64, previously said he wanted to work in a role around the game of football to keep his opportunity to coach again open someday.
