HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – We’re following Breaking news out of Holyoke as emergency crews have been able to rescue a woman from the Mount Tom State Reservation.
According to fire officials, the call came in at about 10:15 a.m. Friday for a woman who had fallen 65 to 70 feet.
She was found by two hikers.
When crews arrived on scene she was awake and talking with first responders. The woman has since been transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
A large number of emergency personnel responded to the scene including the Western Mass Technical Rescue Team and the Holyoke Fire Department.
Thankfully, she wasn’t seriously injured.
According to Captain Dave Rex with the Holyoke Fire Department, she suffered minor injuries.
Now, it wasn’t an easy rescue we’re told due to the 70 degree incline where she fell which made it difficult for crews to find her.
