Friends of Georgia Radio has announced its 2026 Hall of Fame class, recognizing five broadcasters for their contributions to radio and sports broadcasting across the state.
The organization said this year’s class is the largest in its five-year history and follows a record number of nominations.
The 2026 inductees are Dallas McCade, Greg Street, Joel Williams, Loran Smith and Marcy Williams. They will be honored during the Friends of Georgia Radio Hall of Fame Celebration on Aug. 22, which will include tributes and reunions from across Georgia’s broadcasting community.
McCade began her radio career as a teenager in Alabama, earning her broadcast license at age 14 before later moving to Atlanta. She became a longtime country radio personality, co-hosting mornings on Cumulus Media’s “Kicks 101.5” WKHX before being named music director in 2017. She currently co-hosts the “Kincaid & Dallas” morning show on the rebranded “New Country 101.FIVE.”
Smith is being recognized for his decades-long career covering University of Georgia athletics. He served as the school’s first sideline reporter and became widely known for his broadcasts alongside the late Larry Munson on Bulldog football games. In addition to his broadcasting work, Smith held several leadership roles within the university’s athletic department and has authored more than a dozen books on Georgia sports. He remains co-host of the Bulldog Radio Network’s “Tailgate Show.”
Street built his career in Southern hip-hop radio, beginning in Mississippi before working in Mobile, Houston and Dallas. He joined Audacy’s urban contemporary “V-103” WVEE Atlanta in the 1990s, where his “6 O’Clock Jump Off” became a showcase for emerging Southern rap artists, including OutKast, T.I. and Ludacris. Beyond radio, Street has supported community initiatives focused on education, scholarships and literacy.
Joel Williams has spent much of his broadcasting career in North Georgia, including a 17-year tenure at WDUN in Gainesville and time at Atlanta station WYAY. He now co-hosts mornings on Habersham Broadcasting’s “My Country 99.3” WCON-FM Atlanta. He also has experience as a creative director and art director.
Marcy Williams’ journalism career includes three decades as morning news anchor at Cox Media Group’s news/talk WSB-AM Atlanta. She joined WSB in the late 1980s after earlier reporting and anchoring positions and became a familiar voice for Atlanta-area commuters covering news, traffic and weather. Colleagues have credited her with mentoring younger journalists while maintaining high standards for accuracy and fairness.
The Hall of Fame Celebration is scheduled for Aug. 22.
