A whale has washed ashore on Block Island.
The Block Island Chamber of Commerce said in a social media post on Sunday that the whale carcass is located north of Town Beach.
Anyone visiting the area or planning to stop and see the whale is asked to give the animal plenty of space and avoid approaching or disturbing the site.
“Thank you to everyone helping protect both our wildlife and our community,” the post on Facebook read.
