Police ID fatal Sunday shooting victim

SALISBURY — The teen killed in a Sunday shooting in Salisbury has been identified along with two other victims.

According to the Salisbury Police Department, 17-year-old Jeron D. Ellis was confirmed as the victim of the fatal shooting that occurred near Bringle Ferry Road and Green Street shortly before 2 p.m. The hospitalized victim has been identified as 30-year-old Dionte T. Tillman, and another uninjured victim was identified as 22-year-old Elijah Z. Hoover.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that while the shooting occurred near Bringle Ferry Road and Green Street, Ellis and Tillman were found at the Han Dee Hugo’s at the corner of East Innes Street and Stokes Ferry Road. Salisbury Police did not specify where Hoover was found.

According to Major Travis Schulenberger with the Salisbury Police Department, when law enforcement arrived on the scene, one person was found deceased, and the other was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. A release from the SPD indicated that injuries to the second victim are believed to be non-life-threatening.

No one is currently in custody in connection with the shooting, but the police have asserted this is not a random event and that there is no threat to public.
