The 2026 Wimbledon Championships have given fans plenty to talk about through two days of action.
Two top-10 seeds are already heading home while there have been plenty of tension-filled moments.
On Tuesday, No. 4 men’s seed Ben Shelton went down in his opening match against Otto Virtanen. Shelton’s early exit was nearly the headline-grabber of the opening round. Instead, it was Serena Williams’ return to active competitive singles tennis that stole headlines, though Williams came up short, losing to first-round opponent Maya Joint.
Plus, No. 8 Elina Svitolina lost to her countrywoman Daria Snigur in the opening round on Tuesday. Those weren’t the only upsets, however, as five more men’s seeds (No. 18 Francisco Cernudolo, No. 27 Ugo Humbert, No. 29 Tomas Etcheverry, No. 30 Alejandro Tabilo and No. 32 Matteo Arnaldi) are all heading home as well.
