Alessandra Conti, Celebrity Matchmaker at Matchmakers in The City, is weighing in on why Travis Kelce is the “relationship that Taylor Swift has been singing about since she was a teenager.”
“Taylor and Travis are the textbook perfect couple, especially from my perspective as a Celebrity Matchmaker,” she told Fox News Digital. “It started with his clear and confident pursuit of her, and being ‘matched’ by his football coach (or so he takes credit for, adorably!).”
According to Conti, “he boldly and publicly expressed interest in her” when he said he had hoped to give Swift the friendship bracelet he made for her while at her Eras Tour show in Kansas City.
“She had just been through a brutal breakup that gave us the incredible and haunting ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’” she said. “Her ex, Joe Alwyn, was notoriously and infamously totally averse to any public sightings with her, which, in retrospect, is less charming and more baffling. If you are going to date arguably one of the most famous women in the world, you need to embrace the public and every aspect of her life.”
Swift first said Kelce was the man she has always been singing about when she appeared on the “New Heights” podcast in August 2025, while discussing the first time they met.
“So I was like, ‘If this guy isn’t crazy, which is a big if, this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager,'” she said on the podcast
