TOULON, France – Kontron Modular Computers S.A.S. in Toulon, France, is introducing the VX3406 3U VPX Ethernet board for use in harsh environments.

The board offers as many as six 1000BASE-T ports each managed by a dedicated Ethernet controller, ensuring zero bandwidth contention, superior fault and cyber security isolation, and precise traffic prioritization.

Designed for command-and-control, unmanned vehicles, and connected warfare applications, the ruggedized low-power embedded computing communications board ensures high resilience, secure segmentation, and real-time data handling in harsh environments.

PCI Express Gen3 switch

The VX3406 3U VPX Ethernet board integrates an 8-port 8-lane PCI Express Gen3 switch to enable systems designers to use as many as four independent 1G/2.5G ports supporting TSN/IEEE1388. The board has as many as two dedicated 1G copper ports.

Easy integration of TSN-capable controllers across several independent ports avoids the need for legacy deterministic protocols or external switches, and is for uses that require low-latency, jitter-free deterministic Ethernet communications.
