The breaking news hub, a partnership of Express and Live, has recently helped cover the U.S.-Iran talks, multiple primary elections, the hantavirus outbreak and much more. We are happy to announce two new editors whose experience and skills will help us stay on top of big developments around the clock.
Inyoung Kang is joining us as an editor in London. Inyoung comes off six and a half years in the Washington bureau, where she was day editor for the last four years. She is no stranger to complex, fast-moving stories: She started in the bureau on the first day of President Trump’s first Senate impeachment trial and since then has been in the middle of one relentless news cycle after another.
“Inyoung has been vital to managing the daily cascade of stories, keeping us organized amid the chaos, employing her sure hands to keep copy moving and drawing on her 15 years of experience at The Times to make smart news judgments,” Dick Stevenson, the Washington bureau chief, said.
Inyoung first joined The Times as an intern and later worked on the Metro, Business and Foreign/National copy desks and the News Desk. She also worked on live coverage for D.C. and on three Olympics, and she has filled in as an assigning editor on the International desk in Seoul.
This will be her third time living in Europe.
