ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A man died Tuesday after a shooting involving an officer in DeKalb County, police said.
DeKalb police responded to the 3300 block of Rammel Way in response to an armed robbery investigation. A man was shot during the investigation and later died of his injuries, according to a spokesperson for the DeKalb County Police Department.
The man’s identity has not been released.
The spokesperson said no officers or other civilians were injured. The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave.
The department has asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) to look into the incident, which is typical for shootings that involve law enforcement.
