MADISON, Wis. — One swing could be worth $1 million as the MATRIX Basements Million Dollar Hole-in-One Contest comes to Madison this week.
The competition is underway at Vitense Golfland, with qualifying rounds running through Friday, July 10. Amateur golfers age 18 and older can test their skills for a chance to advance to the championship round on Saturday, July 11.
During qualifying, participants will attempt to hit the shot closest to the pin from more than 150 yards away. The 20 closest shots over the five-day qualifying period will earn a spot in the finals, where competitors will have the opportunity to win the $1 million grand prize with a hole-in-one.
Qualifying rounds are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily at Vitense Golfland in Madison.
Entry fees are:
$5 for one ball$10 for three balls$20 for seven balls
Organizers say the event is open to amateur golfers only, and participants must be at least 18 years old.
In addition to the chance at the seven-figure prize, all proceeds from the contest will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County.
A live leaderboard, official rules, eligibility requirements and additional contest information are available through the event organizers. Sponsors include MATRIX Basements, Vitense Golfland, Vortex and News 3 Now.
