“While we are disappointed by this decision, our focus is on minimizing disruption for our patients’ health care needs and helping them understand their options for continuing care with us,” the spokesperson said in part of a statement.

Humana also released a statement, saying the company understands that the change causes concern for its members.

“Our priority is to keep members informed and supported. Humana will provide clear guidance and personalized assistance to help members continue receiving the care they need and to help members transition to other in-network providers,” the company said in part.

The spokesperson for Wexner Medical Center said there is no need for patients to change doctors at this moment. The hospital will reach out to the patients affected by this change.

Humana said it is open to renewing the contract as long as both parties can keep costs affordable for members.
