One of the surprises of preseason could be Lorenzo Ossola, the Milan Futuro forward that Ruben Amorim wants a closer look at.

Milan showed their faith in Ossola a few months ago by giving him a contract extension, and various sources have made it clear just how highly rated he is within the academy system. Another step could come this summer too, it seems.

Amorim to evaluate Ossola

According to MilanNews, Amorim will take a look at Ossola during these first days of the preseason training camp. His assessment will be made at the end of this first block of work, before the team leaved for the Australian tour.

The Portuguese coach will watch him closely over the next ten days before making a decision. Several teams are already interested in signing him (presumably on loan), and looking at his development it is easy to see why.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder shone for Milan U17s, racking up 16 goals in 27 games for them. With the Primavera he got five goals and seven assists in 49 games before graduating to the Futuro, where he amassed three goals and five assists in 23 appearances.

If he does not head out on loan, Ossola could be a key component of what the new head coach Sergio Navarro wants to build with the Futuro, which is expected to be a similar style to Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 vision for the first team.
