New York City Council Member and Deputy Leader Sandra Ung will be partnering with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) for the fifth year in a row to host a seasonal job recruitment event on Wednesday, July 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tangram, located at 133-33 39th Ave. in Flushing.

The event will connect Queens residents with seasonal employment opportunities during the 2026 U.S. Open. USTA recruiters will be conducting on-site interviews. Qualified applicants may receive job offers there.

Seasonal positions that are available at the U.S. Open include those in guest services, player services, facilities operations, courts and grounds and administrative and IT. In addition to offering competitive pay, these positions also provide valuable experience working behind the scenes at a world-class international sporting event.

“The U.S. Open is one of the biggest annual events in New York City, and because it’s held right here in our community, I want to make sure local residents have every opportunity to benefit from the jobs it creates,” Ung said. “Whether you’re a student looking to gain work experience, someone exploring a new career path or simply looking to earn extra income, these seasonal positions offer a chance to build your resume while being part of one of the world’s most prestigious tennis tournaments. I’m proud to partner with the USTA for the fifth year in a row to help connect our community with these opportunities.”

Scheduled to run from Sunday, Aug. 23, to Sunday, Sept. 16, the 2026 U.S. Open will bring together the top tennis players in the world, along with hundreds of thousands of fans. Thousands of seasonal employment opportunities are available to help support the tournament’s operations.

The USTA is looking for individuals who are enthusiastic and customer-focused. Those who get one of these jobs will be tasked with delivering exceptional experiences to players, guests and spectators throughout the tournament.

While walk-ins for the job recruitment event will be accommodated as time permits, those interested in attending are encouraged to register in advance by emailing D20events@council.nyc.gov or calling 718-888-8747. Advanced registration can also be done online by clicking here.

It is recommended that applicants provide their contact information and, if available, their resumes. The employment opportunities are intended for those at least 18 years of age. Those interested in learning more about the available positions can go to careers-usopen.icims.com.
